Adliswil Together is a volunteer group that originated from a network workshop by Sabina Nänny, head of the community work office of the city of Adliswil. Our mission is simple but powerful: bring people together—expats, locals, long‑timers, newcomers, the shy, the chatty, the coffee‑addicted, and everyone in between.
Many of us know the feeling of arriving in Switzerland and thinking, “Wow, this place is beautiful… but why does everyone already have friends?” Or the classic: “I understood three words today—Grüezi, Migros, and sorry.” Whether it’s the language, the culture, or just the fear of accidentally sitting in the wrong train carriage (yes, that’s a thing), starting a new life here can feel lonely.
That’s exactly why Adliswil Together exists. Our volunteers organise weekly or monthly events—walks, coffee meetups, creative workshops, cultural outings, and anything else our team dreams up. The goal is always the same: create moments where people can meet, talk, laugh, and feel at home. We welcome everyone: young, old, families, singles, introverts, extroverts, and those who aren’t sure yet.
We also love ideas. Got a hobby you want to share? A walk you want to lead? A game night you want to host? Tell us! This community grows through the people who shape it.
And because integrating into Switzerland can feel like a sport of its own, here are four friendly tips:
Say Grüezi first — it works like magic.
Join something — a club, a walk, a workshop; connection starts with showing up.
Ask questions — Swiss people are kind, even if they look serious on the tram.
Celebrate small wins — like understanding a full sentence in German or finding the right recycling bag.
Adliswil Together looks forward to meeting you—really. Come say hello.
We’re here, and we’re excited to connect.
Until we meet, Nina and Team Adliswil Together
