Together for a Cleaner Home: Our Afternoon with Litter Club Adliswil

For my husband and me, spending time outdoors is a way of life. Whether we are hiking, cycling or simply taking a stroll, we believe in leaving nature better than we found it. That’s why we never leave home without an extra trash bag - we simply can’t walk past litter without picking it up.
On Saturday, March 7, 2026, we decided to take our personal commitment to the next level by joining the Litter Club Adliswil for their community cleanup. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with great energy and a shared sense of purpose. As we walked through Adliswil, we kept our eyes peeled for anything that didn't belong in our beautiful landscape.
During our 1.5-hour route, we managed to fill a medium-sized bag. While it felt good to clear the paths, it was a sobering reminder of the waste left behind by "to-go" culture.
Among our finds were:
Numerous discarded beer and energy drink cans.
Food packaging, such as plastic bread bags and chip packets.
The collective impact, however, was even more staggering. The day after the event, we received an update from the club’s president, Andreas Baumann. He reported that our group of approximately 50 volunteers - a fantastic mix of adults and children - collected enough trash to fill six massive 110-liter bags. Most surprisingly, the team even recovered three broken scooters abandoned in the environment!
Join the Movement in April!
This experience serves as a powerful reminder that while individual efforts are valuable, the impact is far greater when the community works together. It is about more than just collecting trash; it is about fostering community spirit, enjoying the fresh air, and taking collective pride in the local environment.
Everyone is invited to take part in the next "Adliswil räumt auf" event:
When: Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 1:30 PM
Where: Meeting point in front of Haus Brugg

It is a perfect opportunity to help keep Adliswil clean, stay active, and build a stronger community. Participation makes a difference - hope to see a great turnout there!
Look forward to meeting some of you soon.
